I'm pretty fed up with the lack of instruction or feedback I received in my photography class but it did not discourage me from becoming a better photographer. I wasn't planning this exercise today at all, and for that reason, I'm even happier with the results because I didn't research anything, didn't look up any youtube tutorials, didn't have to look at the textbook. I was relaxing on the back deck and our bird feeder happened to be as busy as usual, and I decided to try to get some pictures of birds in flight (no doubt influenced by my fave, Elliot Porter). I understood what lens I needed, and what settings were required to get the effect and I know I have a long way to go but I'm pleased with my first twenty minutes' work. The final one below of the full frontal chickadee is my favorite.
