During the last three days I visited Finland, China (twice), Damascus, Belarus, the Amazon River, The Holy Land, North Korea, Sicily, Mount Washington (NH), South Dakota, Egypt, Australia, Antartica, Russia, Norway's Svalbard Island, Borneo, the Canadian Rockies, the Sierra Madres, Mexico, the Sinai Peninsula, Costa Rica, New York City, Alaska, Ghana, (the new) Shangri-La, Angkor, the Iowa State Fair, Serbia, and New Zealand.
In other words, I was home from work, and too sick to do anything other than read the last seven issues of my National Geographic magazine subscription. Which, by the way, is the best $12 investment I've ever made. At least it was $12 when I signed up last year; the insert cards in the current issues say the price is now $34.
Tomorrow, back to the grind, and although I will miss my armchair vacations, I'm happy to be recuperated enough to function in my own neighborhood.
never quite heard it phrased that way before.
