Here's the link to my NYC St. Patrick's Day photos. Use the slideshow version. I didn't spend a lot of time on "formal" band photos because there was another band picture-taker there who's better, and more dedicated to running ahead and getting the oncoming shots. Me? I just relaxed and REALLY enjoyed the day.
Unfortunately, there was a tragic event during the parade. Tenor drummer from Bergen County Police Pipes and Drums died during it. Quite a few people I talked to about it said "at least he died doing what he loved." I hope so.
I've done this parade once before but what I can't get over about yesterday was just how incredibly nice all the people on the sidelines were. I heard "Go Jersey!" and "Yay NJ!" and "Happy St. Patrick's Day" so many times I couldn't count them, and there were so many watchers waving and smiling, I thought I was in Minnesota or something. Just Minnesota with really tall buildings and really many people.
I'm still getting caught up on pictures from earlier in the week's festivities; the three other parades and one dinner dance. Be back soon.
That's awful that he died during the parade! Did it slow up the parade or cause a big back up?

Bekah - yes, it caused a huge backup. He collapsed around 12:30. We were scheduled to step off around 1:30 but didn't until about 2:45. The TV cameras shut off at 3:00. Not complaining, given the cause.
